1/7/21 - Weekly Update

Hello everyone! Weekly update here.

  • Bug fixes, as will probably happen every week. And I probably broke something. Or forgot to rename something. Hooray!
  • Battle Tome renamed "Recruit's Guide" and is added to the main menu instead of being an item.
  • Kara's Alchemy has had slight tooltip adjustments and visual updates. Hopefully it's more clear how it works.
  • (WORK IN PROGRESS) - Auto Battle renamed "Engage." Allies act a bit smarter now. They'll defend when they get exposed, Aarlin heals more often, and Quinten will reliably use Barriers to build FP and then use Stratagem. Hoping to program some more competent AI with reveals and aggravates, but it'll take some time. It's probably not the best idea to use Engage on Hard mode though :)
  • Sped up some of the walking in cutscenes, mostly at the beginning of the game. I like a slow, dramatic walk more than anyone, but I can see how that might have been tedious.
  • Added more clear documentation to menus and Controls section of the Recruit's Guide. A lot of these features, such as fast forwarding, were already in the game. I just needed to document them.

Unfortunately, old save files may be invalidated. But I will give you fresh save files when I release part 2.

Pictured above: Hrelda! We're going to meet the Pride Mages, the law makers of the mage city. They're a friendly bunch, except one. We also get to see the Sempiternal Tree, or at least a glance of it. If you said it's important because of title, then I'd say...you're right! It won't be important yet though.

If you played the original, we're diving deeper into Kara's time at the Alchemist Guild, learning more about Belai's new story arch, and spending more time at the Hallowed Temple. On top of that, there's a new dungeon and, as I mentioned before, a battle arena to break up the story beats.

Still looking for review trades. Most of the adjustments I've made so far have been as a result of reviews, and it's making the game so much better! Thank you! If you're on RPG Maker.net....you could totally give me a review on https://rpgmaker.net/games/11950/

See you next week! Stay safe.
